Framegrabber

For those that own a video camera or digital camera, a framegrabber is an important piece of the electronic device. The framegrabber is the actual part that captures still frames from a video signal or system. Frames are captured in digital form, presented and then put into digital form. Different framegrabber devices have been designed to permit the capturing of images with different frame rates and resolutions.

There is an analog framegrabber and a digital framegrabber. An analog framegrabber is involved with accepting and processing analog video signals. A digital framegrabber accepts and processes digital video streams. Both of these framegrabber devices have memory for saving images. Not only can a framegrabber be utilized for a camera, but for healthcare, manufacturing and network security as well. In fact, astronomers utilize an analog framegrabber for low light cameras to generate a live video of objects in the sky. To learn more about a framegrabber, please go to www.alacron.com
